Using AV Scanners with Reflex Disknet for Windows 9x V3.09
With this new version of Reflex Disknet, we have improved our support of Anti-Virus scanners running alongside Reflex Disknet. This document sets out, to the best of our knowledge, any issues between the Anti-Virus scanners and Reflex Disknet.
Reflex Macro Interceptor
RMI cannot be run alongside an On-Access scanner, and is likely to cause problems if both are installed and active on a PC at the same time.
Please note!: Unlike Reflex Disknet for Windows NT, we do not currently support On-Access scanners due to conflicts with PSG, and although some information is given for configuration settings, before rolling out an On-Access scanner, please fully test to ensure there are no conflicts in your environment.
For each scanner, we have included the version where the majority of the testing has been conducted. Where the product supports Internet updates / virus definition file updates, we have applied these wherever possible.
Reflex Sherlock v2.08+
As Sherlock does not have an On-Access component, there are no major issues with Sherlock. However, Sherlock fails to run on certain Windows 98 machines which have Reflex DataVault for Windows 95/98 installed. This is currently under investigation. This does not seem to affect Windows 98 Second Edition. |
