Reflex MailSafe is the star performer
May, 2002
Reflex MailSafe is the star performer in the second phase of the Office of the e-Envoy's secure messaging trial supervised by CESG.
From the 21st - 25th January CESG hosted the second phase of the e-Envoy sponsored secure messaging trial, in which ten leading PKI vendors took part. Having successfully participated and completed phase one of the trial last year Reflex Magnetics Ltd. submitted Reflex MailSafe Enterprise.
The trial was run in two parts. Part one was carried out over the Internet, and part two during a rigorous week of testing at CESG. The vendors were required to demonstrate that their products could interoperate with the HMG root and with each other, in order to exchange signed and encrypted e-mails.
As in the previous trial, the scenario was based on the current model within government for a public key infrastructure. This model consists of a root authority and a number of subordinate authorities within departments or service providers.
Reflex are delighted with their results gaining more "full mark" scores than any other product. The conclusion of the trial indicates that interoperability need no longer be a factor in delaying the implementation of a secure messaging system. A full report of the trial can be found either on the CESG web site at .
