Discovering the threats of USB devices in your network system

More and more companies worry about the confidentiality of their business information from the employees within the organisation. And many companies are just dying to find ways to analyse the risk they run from their employees and the many USB devices that they bring with them to the workplace.
We came across a very interesting article telling how far a Credit Union company had to go to test its employees and the way they used these USB media in the company environment. The company decided to ‘plant’ about 25 USB devices in the driveways, walkways and other places of gatherings of their employees. The company they hired built-in a software inside these USB to track the ones that would be connected onto the network system. The results were pretty shocking for the credit union. 15 out of the 25 USB media were immediately plugged into the work PC soon after they were found. And this was enough to prove to the Credit Union that it was running a great big risk from its employees and their unmanaged use of such and like USB devices.
